they killed russia, twice, completely shutting down arshaven who is becoming quite a player.they didn't even have david villa, possibly their best player, to help alongside torres, who could have scored a hat trick if luck played along his side a bit more today.they flat out out-played the germans, and deserved to win euro 2008.

Yes.....I feel bad for Croatia and the Netherlands, who I thought were teams that were good enough to win too, but congratualtions to Spain.....they did what they needed to do, they won the tournament fair and square.....well done.

Spain simply dominated the final game on both ends. They paralyzed Germany's midfield (Ballack is physically not ready for this game - again why Loew did not should faith on Borowski?), pressurized both flanks and neutralized Klose with tighter man-marking. The only flaw is they cannot beat Lehmann in fashion (the winning goal is a fatal error from Lahm rather than Lehmann, and the Lehmann of Arsenal is back in this game - 6 saves do not truly reflect how effective he is to deny the continuously-threatening attack from Spain).This flaw mirrors the fact that Spain delivers on time game after game, and they narrowly edge out opponents to win. Yet you have little to argue on a team who wins all possible games during the tournament.

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes they played better than Germany today but if they played Germany again Germany would beat them. They got lucky Germany didn't play like they normally do. Spain played better today but Germany is a better team.

NO. they were destined to win it, and any team that wins on luck, doesnt deserve to win the tournament. 2008 has been a very disappointing football yr in general. UEFA cup, CL, euro 08, all tournaments were just disappointing. however, 2009 may be a great year for football. if you watch spains game, the ball would hardly leave them, every shot they take is so close to goal. it was destiny all the way. why do i say this? just wait and watch what happens to them in 2010 WC. see if they can even reach the semi final in 2010 or win confed 09.

I'm very pleased that Spain won Euro2008 - about time.Spain has not done too well winning - so this is a big boost to Spanish morale - I hope they thrust out their chests and enjoy being winners for a change.Good for Spain - glass of Sherry anyone?
