Default should I give some sort of warning? (garter toss)? - 13th January 2008, 08:05 AM

I'm a leg amputee I've been one since I was 5. My future husband and I thought it would be really funny to take the leg an all when he takes off my garter. We were going to play ZZ top " She's got legs" for the music and everything. As you can tell we both have a off beat sense of humour. All of our friends know I'm missing a leg, and so do my family ( obviously). I think about 80% of his family know but I'm not sure if they all know. Should there be some sort of warning? Does anyone else think this is as funny as I think it is?no the legs not being tossed too. That thing cost twenty five thousand dollars it ain't going no where. Besides I don't want him throwing a dangerous projectile into the crowed.

I think it is a great idea. I wouldn't give any warning, I would just do it. If you give a warning the joke would be blown.

I think thats really funny. I dont think that you should give any type of warning. I'm most of the people in his family know and I am sure that ones that do know are the ones that you are going to be seeing most of time that you are married. So go and have fun with it! Congrats!

Warning will ruin the surprise! I would probably pee my pants if I saw that! For the people that don't know, they will find out that day in a very surprising way...

If your comfortable with it and you think its funny go for it! No warning necessary! I think if you warn people it might not come off as humorous. I was once at a camp with a leg amputee and she turned her whole leg around and we were all like "What the heck??". It was pretty funny cause we were all mystified by it until she showed us it was a fake leg she was twisting so crazily.

that's awesome and great you have a sense of humor like that. I think its funny no warning needed cause if they didn't know you enough to know you had a fake leg than it doesn't matter if they get shocked more than everyone else
