as soon as i have updated it, neither programme will work, and i end up having to do a system restore. does anyone know why cos its driving me up the wall!!yes its an original vista - not a copy. i cant understand why when i do the restore it just goes wrong.

When the OS is getting updates all other applications to be closed. Reboot the machine for the update to get installed. BTW is the OS original ? Else don't update

You maybe downloaded an update that caused this reaction.Try calling Windows Support (if you have the original Windows) and explain them the trouble.If not, call a technician.

When you up-date a programme, quite often you have to "re-start "your PC for up-date to take effect....you're normally told to do this... also when you're d/l an up-date, you're told to close any other prog' that are running at that time
